The PSEM NCR Chapter will be conducting a Hands-on training /workshop on Resource estimation of Stratabound deposits (Nickel and Coal) and Basic optimization concept and application using Microlynx Mining Software.
This is a 32 hour training workshop that will be held on consecutive weekends, January 24, 25, 31 and February 1.
Since this is a hands-on training, we will only accept 15 participants. Although the training/workshop will be open to all Filipino mining engineers, priority will be given to NCR chapter members.
Participants are required to bring his/her own <span style='color:maroon'>Laptop Computer with Microsoft XP Operating System and NOT Vista OS</span> as we have noted incompatibility issues when running Microlynx in it.
Fee
PHP7,500.00 per participant

Day 1 : January 24 (Microlynx Environment, Drill Hole Database Management)
Day 2 : January 25 (Survey Data Management)
Day 3 : January 31 (Resource Management)
Day 4 : February 1 (Basic Pit Optimization Concepts And Applications)

Installation of Microlynx in Vista OS
1. Copy the Microynx installer folder to your HD
2. Explore the folder and look for the SETUP.EXE file.
3. Click the right button of the mouse.
4. Select properties.
5. Click compatibility tab
6. Tick the box beside the “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
7. Select Windows Xp
8. Press OK
9. Run/click the SETUP.EXE file
10. During set-up, don’t replace NEW files. Select “NO” when asked to replace new files.
11. At the later part during installation, the installer will encounter problems in installing the following files*:
a. itircl.dll
b. itss.dll
c. hhctrl.ocx
12. Select “ignore” during these instances and complete the installation.
*These files are used by the Operating System when you use Microsoft Internet Explorer to open or use a Web page that calls the window.showHelp script method to open a Uniform Resource Locator (URL) in an HTML Help window (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811630). Considering the purpose of these files, it won’t affect the functionalities of the MicroLynx software even if they are not installed.
Should you encounter some bugs, just post it in this forum.
